The International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) at Milwaukee School of Engineering serves as a representative advisory body that elevates the voices of international students and strengthens communication between students and campus stakeholders. The ISAB provides structured insight, feedback, and student-led solutions to enhance the academic, social, and cultural experiences of international students at ºÚÁÏÍø. Participation in the council offers students a meaningful opportunity for leadership development and helps build a more connected and vibrant international student community at ºÚÁÏÍø.

Our Mission

The mission of the ºÚÁÏÍø International Student Advisory Board is to support international student success through: 

• Representation - Embodies the diverse perspectives and experiences of ºÚÁÏÍø international students
• Advocacy – Raises concerns of international students, and advises campus units on policies and initiatives affecting them
• Student Support - Provides resources and information that support international student success, belonging, and overall experience

Meet this year's co-chairs and members!

Hi! I’m Iyanu Adebayo, an undergraduate from Lagos, Nigeria studying operations and systems management. On campus, I stay busy as president of the International Student Association, co-chair of the International Student Advisory Board, secretary of the Project Management Club, a Multicultural Ambassador, and a member of NSBE (I really enjoy staying involved!). I love bringing people together, meeting new friends, and creating fun events that help students feel connected. In my free time, you’ll probably find me singing, dancing, cooking, or trying new foods. As part of ISAB, I’m excited to represent international student voices, build community, and make campus feel like home for everyone while having fun along the way!

Hi! I’m Yuktha Koganti, a senior computer science student at ºÚÁÏÍø and one of the co-chairs of ISAB. I’m originally from India and moved to the U.S. for college when I was 17. I’m involved across campus through student leadership, undergrad research, and working as a Student Ambassador for Admissions. I also served as VP of the International Student Association for the past two years, which made me realize how important it is to create spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed and connected. I’m really interested in AI and emerging technology, but outside academics I also love traveling, exploring Milwaukee with my friends, going out dancing, playing badminton, and cooking for the people around me. Through ISAB, I hope to help make the international student experience at ºÚÁÏÍø feel more connected, welcoming and easier to navigate for both current and future students. 

Hello, I am German Almaguer Ortega from Mexico, and my major is industrial engineering. I enjoy participating in campus events, working out, attending sporting events, and making new friends. I have been an international student for the past three years, where I have experienced living with a host family and getting to know their culture. I am excited to be part of ISAB and have the opportunity to help incoming students to adjust to ºÚÁÏÍø and the United States. 

Hi! I’m Natania Kissoon, and I'm senior majoring in civil engineering. I am from Guyana, South America and I moved to the U.S. when I was 17. I started at ºÚÁÏÍø in the spring of 2024, which came with a unique set of challenges when it came to adjusting and building connections on campus. Because of that experience, I decided to get more involved to help create a welcoming environment for students who may be going through similar transitions. Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially going on walks and hikes, trying new foods and traveling. I also play the ukulele and guitar, and I love anything related to music. Through ISAB, I hope to support international students, help them feel more connected and make ºÚÁÏÍø feel like a home away from home for everyone. 

Hey! My name is Kigo Lee, and I am a senior majoring in electrical engineering. I was born in South Korea and have been studying in the U.S. since 6th grade. Outside of my academic life, I enjoy trying out new restaurants with friends, karaoke, working out and watching soccer. Before coming to Milwaukee School of Engineering, I finished my associate degree in Engineering Science at the College of Lake County, Illinois. I know the stresses and struggles international students and transfer students have, thus I am grateful to be part of ISAB to assist them throughout their college years. My goal is to help structure a community at ºÚÁÏÍø where international students feel welcome and supported both academically and socially. I want to help create an environment where students can build meaningful friendships, share their experiences, and feel comfortable reaching out for guidance whenever they need it. Through ISAB, I hope to give back all the support I have been given. 

Hi! I’m Filippa Naimj, an undergraduate student from Sweden studying architectural engineering. I’m also an athlete, where I play for ºÚÁÏÍø’s Women’s Basketball team. Other than playing basketball, I enjoy watching movies, hanging out with friends and crocheting. I love getting to know new people and finding activities that help me explore new cultures and opportunities. I am an outgoing person and enjoy helping others. Therefore, I’m excited to represent international student voices, work together and make ºÚÁÏÍø feel like a home for everyone. 

Hello, my name is Princess Namayega, an undergraduate majoring in nursing originally from Uganda. On campus, I am involved in the American Student Union and the National Society of Black Engineers, where I enjoy connecting with students from different backgrounds and building a strong sense of community. Outside of academics, I enjoy swimming, spending time with friends and participating in study groups. I am passionate about advocating for others and helping people find solutions to challenges they may face. As an international student, adjusting to new environments and social settings has not always been easy, but my experience at ºÚÁÏÍø has shown me the value of support, inclusion and cultural connection. As a member of ISAB, I hope to continue creating a welcoming environment for students, especially international students, by being a supportive friend, guide, and positive influence within the campus community. 

Hi everyone! I’m Juan Luis Ruiz Bermudez from Seville, Spain, and I’m an international student majoring in mechanical engineering. I’m passionate about traveling, and I love to do all kinds of sports. I am a fan of motorsports. My advice for incoming international students is: don’t just aim to adapt, aim to grow. Use this experience to push beyond your limits, build discipline and pursue your ambitions with intention. Living abroad isn’t just about studying, it’s about discovering your potential and refusing to settle for a smaller version of yourself. I am excited to be part of ISAB and have the opportunity to help incoming students to adjust to ºÚÁÏÍø and the United States. 

Hi! I am Levi Santos from Brazil, and I am a computer science major with a data science minor who is also on the tennis team. I enjoy playing sports, music, meeting new people and traveling. I came to ºÚÁÏÍø in September of 2025, and it has been a great experience for me educationally and culturally. However, as international students, many of us face challenges that go unnoticed. As a part of the International Student Board, I am looking forward to making meaningful changes by giving a voice to all international students and making sure their needs are heard to build a healthy campus environment. 

Hi, my name is Tuyet Vo, and I am a senior majoring in user experience. Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring hidden gems around the city and participating in water sports such as swimming. As an international student, I understand the cultural shifts, loneliness and challenges that come with adjusting to new life and studying in a new country and environment. As a member of ISAB, I am excited to support fellow international students as they adapt to campus life, the U.S. academic system and build connections with fellow Raiders and professors. 

Hi everyone, my name is Yien Wang, you can call me Peter. I’m a sophomore  from China majoring in nursing. I just came to this country last year in August of 2025, so I’m also a pretty new person to this country, and I am learning new things every day. I love to read books and watch movies. The book and movie series that I love the most is The Lord of the Rings. I love engaging in campus events and doing interesting things with friends. As a new person in this country, I understand the frustrations, missing homes, and all those emotions that we face. I would try my best to listen to all of your voices, needs and advice to better help you all. I’m very grateful for the opportunity ISAB gave me to be a voice and represent the international community in ºÚÁÏÍø.
