Located just steps from campus, Grohmann Tower offers furnished apartment-style housing for upper-level students, graduate students, and other eligible residents. With full kitchens, apartment amenities, and utilities included, residents enjoy greater independence while remaining connected to the ºÚÁÏÍø community.

Apartment Features

• 155 furnished apartments across 11 residential floors
• Apartment types include 96 studios, 40 one-bedroom apartments, and 19 two-bedroom apartments
• Furnished with a bunkable twin XL bed frame and mattress, dresser, desk, and desk chair for each resident
• In-unit kitchen with full-size refrigerator, electric range and oven, microwave, sink, and cabinet space
• In-unit bathroom
• Apartments on floors 4–10 include a dining table and chairs
• Resident-controlled heating and air conditioning

Note. Studio apartments make up the majority of the housing at Grohmann Tower. One- and two-bedroom apartments are limited. Apartments are assigned based on availability.

Laundry

• Residents have access to a community laundry room.
• Apartments on floors 11–14 include an in-unit washer and dryer.

Community and Support

Community Assistants live throughout the building and help create a welcoming community through events, resources, and support.

Eligibility

The following residential populations are eligible to live in Grohmann Tower:

• Third- and fourth-year undergraduate students
• Graduate students
• Students who are 21 years of age or older
• Married students
• Faculty and staff, as space permits

Apartment Occupancy

• Studio apartments on floors 4–10 accommodate up to three residents.
• One-bedroom apartments on floors 4–10 accommodate up to three residents.
• Two-bedroom apartments on floors 6, 8, and 10 accommodate up to four residents.
• One-bedroom apartments on floors 11–14 accommodate up to three residents.
• Two-bedroom apartments on floors 11–14 accommodate up to five residents.

Housing Rates and Contract Options

Housing charges are assessed on a per-resident basis. Residents are responsible only for their own housing charges and are not financially responsible for roommates' or apartment-mates' housing costs. Summer housing is available. Contact Apartments at ºÚÁÏÍø.

Preparing for Your Apartment

Grohmann Tower apartments vary in size and layout. Before bringing additional furniture, consider the number of residents sharing your apartment and the space available in your specific layout.

• Make the most of your space. Residents sharing a sleeping area may want to bunk their university-provided beds to create additional floor space. The provided bed frames stack with built-in pegs, so no additional bunking equipment is needed. Beds can also be raised to create storage space and may provide enough clearance to place a dresser underneath.
• Consider compact furniture. Space can become limited when multiple residents bring additional furniture. Instead of a full-size couch, consider a smaller option such as a futon lounger. BedLoft offers a for ºÚÁÏÍø students.
• Studio apartment tip. Studio apartments have an open layout with no door separating the main living and sleeping area from the bathroom sink area. Residents sharing a studio may want to place a tension rod and curtain in the walkway near the sink. This can help reduce light entering the sleeping area when one roommate is getting ready while another is sleeping.
• Window privacy. Grohmann Tower provides drapes for privacy and light control. Residents on floors 4–10 may want to add sheer curtains using tension rods. Sheer curtains can provide additional daytime privacy while still allowing natural light into the apartment. Sheer curtains are provided on floors 11–14. Curtains and curtain rods may not be permanently attached to walls or windows; use tension rods or another non-permanent method when adding curtains.
• Kitchen supplies. Residents should plan to bring their own cookware, dishes, utensils, glasses, and other personal kitchen supplies. Apartments on floors 4–10 include a dining table and chairs. Residents on floors 11–14 may want to bring a dining table or other compact dining furniture.
• Bathroom supplies. Grohmann Tower provides a shower liner to help keep water inside the tub. Residents should bring their own decorative shower curtain, if desired, as well as toilet paper, towels, toiletries, bath mats, and other personal bathroom supplies.
• Cleaning your apartment. Residents are responsible for routinely cleaning their apartment, including the kitchen and bathroom. Trash cans are provided, but residents should bring 13-gallon trash bags and appropriate cleaning supplies. Each residential floor has a trash room for resident use.
• Keep HVAC intakes clear. When arranging furniture, beds, desks, dressers, boxes, and other items must not block the intake to your HVAC unit. Keeping the intake clear helps the system function properly and ensures it remains accessible for maintenance.
• Decorating your apartment. Grohmann Tower has different wall requirements than ºÚÁÏÍø's traditional residence halls. Command Strips, adhesive hooks, and other adhesive products may not be used on apartment walls. Small brad nails and removable painter's tape are permitted.
